Lyra HELIKON SL
ГОЛОВКА ЗВУКОСНИМАТЕЛЯ МС
Designed in response to demand for a Helikon with a single layer (SL) of windings. The single layer winding spec means lower internal impedance and lower output, as a result the LYRA Helikon SL places very great demands on the phono amplifier that follows it. However, some phono stages have been specifically made to cater for low output cartridges, and deliver their best only with a low output signal.
A specific cantilever/coil assembly as well as damper settings, adjustments, and "voicing" are all unique. The SL works best in the quite specific conditions it was developed for. As a specialty model requiring special parts, dedicated assembly and voicing - all in very small quantities - it carries a 10% premium in price over the standard Helikon.
The expert user who requires a cartridge like the Helikon SL will be rewarded when the cartridge is setup and used exactly as intended. For those in any doubt about which version to choose, the regular Helikon is recommended.
All versions of Helikon have a shorter distance from centerline through mounting holes to stylus tip of 7.8 mm which is required by some tonearms (the standard distance on other LYRA models is 9.5 mm).
